Player Spotlight is a now a new feature to the John Covello Blog, where once a week a player from either high school, or travel hockey will be spotlighted on the blog for their achievements.
This week's Player Spotlight is:
_Alex Rojas from the New Jersey Rockets Jr.B (MJHL) and Seton Hall Prep. Alex is currently a junior at Seton Hall, but does not play for the Pirates. Instead of running rink to rink playing with two different busy teams, Alex focuses on the junior hockey, and school work. With this Alex is an honor student that maintains a very good 3.8 grade point average. Alex is the first player spotlight that only plays junior hockey and not high school. He is a perfect example of a great student athlete.
_With the Rockets Alex has a 22-20-42 line in 3o games. This is good enough to earn a spot in this weekend's Met-League All-Star game in Walpole, Mass. Alex is representing New Jersey very well this season. He currently is 7th in the Met-League North, and 13th overall. He is also the leading goal-scorer for all Met-League players from New Jersey. To add to these impressive statistics is that Alex is an alternate captain for the Rockets this season.
_Alex has jumped up and played several games with the New Jersey Rockets Jr.A (AJHL) squad. This is the team that Alex aspires to play with full-time next season as a senior. Best of luck to Alex and the Rockets with the rest of the season!
