Private/Public- A lot of change this week in both of the top tens, and I can see a lot more change coming for next week too. There are several big tournament games going on this week. The surprise teams of the week are, Don Bosco, and Ridge. Don Bosco is currently on a 4 game winning streak, and are coming over two big wins over Red Bank Catholic, and rival Bergen Catholic. Ridge on the other hand is still cruising along, but is faced with some tough games this week.

This week's games to watch:
12/27/10 #2 Morris Knolls vs #3 Don Bosco at 7:00 at the Ice Vault GAME WAS PPD
12/28/10 #6 Ridge vs #7 Howell at 7:55 at Bridgewater

12/29/10 #1 Randolph vs #2 Morris Knolls at Mennen
12/30/10 #9 Red Bank Catholic vs Pope John at 3:00 at the Red Bank Armory
1/2/11 #2 St. Augustine vs #3 Don Bosco at 7:30 at the Ice Vault

  2. John, Ridgewood got schooled by Jefferson in the first game of the Skylands tournament on Tuesday. Unfortunately for Jefferson, they've had to face the likes of Randolph, Morris Knolls and Chatham out of the gate and did not fare well. After watching Ridgewood lose to the Falcons, I can tell you without question that they are not even remotely in the same league as the 3 teams I just named above. Time to move Ridgewood WAY down the list.

  3. Ridgewood was flat and awful versus Jefferson on Tuesday. Clearly, their worst effort of the season thus far, yet they still managed to dominate and outshoot a hard working, very well coached Jefferson team 42-15, losing 6-5, as Jefferson held on. (May have had a bit of "home cooking" as the host, too!) Does that sound like "schooled"?? It's hockey! They bounced back with a 6-2 win over Brick and a 3-1 victory over Morristown this AM. Would have been nice to see them v Hillsboro or Chatham. I think Zman would be in for a surprise. Good tournament.

  4. Home cooking was the cry the whole game which of course is absurd and the chants were childish. At 1 - 7, I can assure you we have NEVER tasted any home cooking. YES, RW was schooled by a team ranked 106 while Ridgewood was #7 in public. I have watched Randolph and Morris Knolls, Hillsboro, and Chatham and in NO WAY is Ridgewood in their league.

Shots were 36 - 18 and Jefferson started their 5' 3" freshman goalie in his very first varsity game.
