After 21 years, the puck will finally drop for the “Greatest Hockey Game Never Played”. In1989, the
New Jersey State Ice Hockey Championship between
Regional High School of Montvale was canceled due to a measles outbreak at Delbarton. The teams
were declared “Co Champions” by the NJSIAA. Neither team was satisfied with the outcome. As one
of the most highly anticipated hockey championships in State history, this game generated great
debate over who would have won. On
answer. Both teams have assembled 19 out of the original 20 players. Players and coaches from both
teams will travel from across the country to battle it out on the ice one last time – this time for

WHY: A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the
“Hockey Fights Cancer” is a joint charitable initiative founded in December 1998 by the National
Hockey League and National Hockey Players Association. The goal of “Hockey Fights Cancer” is to
raise money and awareness for national and local cancer research institutions, Children's Hospitals,
player charities and local cancer organizations. To date, “Hockey Fights Cancer” has raised more
than $11 million. The remainder of the proceeds will go to a charity of choice from each of the
